Management of natural habitats
Bulrush/Reed Bed Control
Cutting and managing reed beds are essential for a variety of wildlife and endangered species to prosper. By cutting sections of reed, this allows water to flow into areas that have a low water level. This creates a refuge and an ideal feeding area for wildlife. Birdwatchers will also benefit from a maintained reed bed. With the amphibious machines versatility we can:
- Cut & remove reeds in sections or certain shapes
- Create channels through existing reed beds
- Create habitats for wading birds
- Cut & remove bulrush from marginal and banked areas
- Cut & remove nuisance trees and shrubbery
- Reduce the need for labour intensive tasks
Most reed beds/ natural habitats are protected, which makes the amphibious harvester equipped with the heavy duty cutter or excavator arm attachment an excellent choice in working in this environment.
